Rain Test

Introduction:

Transportation vehicles such as airplanes and automobiles, lighting equipment, signaling devices, protective housings for automotive lamps, and equipment that may encounter rain exposure during operation often face rainy weather conditions. Rainwater can penetrate into the interior of these devices, damaging their structure and components. Therefore, the impact of rainfall on products cannot be overlooked. Such equipment requires the use of a rain test chamber to conduct rain tests, and it can only be put into service after passing these tests.

The purpose of the rain test is to determine the ability of the equipment's housing to prevent rainwater penetration and its operational effectiveness during or after exposure to rain.

The rain test is conducted in a rain test chamber, which is suitable for artificial rain tests based on natural conditions. It does not involve rainfall with strong wind speeds and does not account for significant water ingress caused by temperature differences between the specimen's high temperature and the rainwater temperature.
